Debt Traps

Here is where you will learn about the various debt traps. Debt traps are plans and schemes that look inviting on first presentation. Unfortunately, most of them turn out to be nothing more than expensive scams that will do nothing but rob you of your money.

Debt traps are everywhere. They exist primarily to exploit the inexperienced, the uninitiated, those who are desperate or those who continually struggle with debt. As the name infers, debt traps will only WORSEN any debt problems that you may be having.

"Quick-fix" solutions will almost invariably offer all sorts of promises. Quick fix and get rich quick schemes should be avoided. However, debt solutions exist for almost every debt problem.

The greatest solution to debt problems is to make a decision to work your way out of the situation that you are in. It all starts with a decision, a plan and some discipline. Without discipline you will just keep going the way that you have always done.

Let me repeat those steps:

  1. DECISION
  2. PLAN
  3. DISCIPLINE

If you commit to those three steps you can not only get out of debt - you can do virtually anything.

Steps 1 and 3 are entirely up to YOU. You can also formulate your own plan if you are able. If you don't have a plan of your own you can check out this wealth plan. Preferably you will seek the services of an independent professional accountant or financial planner BEFORE you commit to a course of action. What you are seeking is UNBIASED advice, information and recommendations.

What you DO NOT want is a recommendation that is skewed towards the adviser receiving a big fat commission. Such a commission is almost always based on a percentage. One way or another, that percentage almost always gets paid by... you.

You should always enquire UP FRONT whether a "flat fee" is payable for any advice or a "commission" is payable on whatever course of action that you are seeking advised on.

In other words - know the "ground rules" BEFORE you commit to anything or take any action.

Like I said, there are debt traps everywhere.

Also here we will explore things like credit cards, interest rates, pay day lenders, the "infamous" Nigerian scam letters and various other debt traps and scams.
